Arched Niche in Earthy Limewash Living Room

This living room corner showcases a sophisticated contemporary wabi-sabi aesthetic defined by its tactile limewash plaster walls in warm, muted taupe tones. The dominant palette consists of earthy neutrals — soft browns, greys, and creamy beiges — punctuated by the deep charcoal of the dramatic arched niche and the rich espresso of the reclaimed wood beam. A tall, elegantly proportioned arched alcove serves as the focal point, housing a slender black metal console table displaying a dark sculptural object. To the left, a classic round mahogany pedestal table supports a vibrant teal ceramic planter containing a tall, graceful bamboo plant that introduces organic life and a subtle pop of color. The mood is contemplative, grounded, and serene, with soft directional lighting that emphasizes the textured surfaces and architectural curves. This space perfectly suits homeowners seeking a calm, minimalist yet character-rich environment that blends modern restraint with traditional architectural details.
