Stone Courtyard Villa with Floating Timber Roof

This striking contemporary courtyard villa showcases a masterful fusion of raw stone and warm timber. The dominant palette consists of textured grey stone, rich natural wood tones, crisp white surfaces, and deep black window frames. Massive stone walls anchor the composition while extensive floor-to-ceiling glass creates a transparent connection between the interior living spaces and the surrounding landscape. The standout feature is the dramatic floating timber roof that appears to hover above the stone volumes, emphasized by continuous clerestory windows and skylights that flood the home with natural light. The spatial layout follows a modern interpretation of a traditional Taiwanese courtyard house, with multiple volumes arranged around open green spaces. The mood is simultaneously grounded and ethereal — solid yet light, private yet open. This architectural approach suits design-conscious families who desire a luxurious yet nature-connected home that bridges contemporary minimalism with regional cultural memory.
