About this design

This spacious living and gathering area showcases a sophisticated neutral palette of warm beige, creamy travertine, and deep charcoal floor tiles. The dominant material is travertine, used for the substantial central island and a smaller side pedestal, its rough-hewn texture contrasting beautifully with the smooth matte wooden cabinetry and built-in display shelves. A massive rectangular skylight is the hero architectural feature, bathing the room in soft, directional natural light that creates dramatic shadows and a sense of calm. Recessed warm LED strips along the ceiling edges and within the shelving add layered ambient lighting. The spatial layout is defined by a sunken seating zone that encourages intimate conversation, while the open-plan arrangement maintains a sense of airy volume. This refined, contemplative space perfectly suits design-conscious homeowners, art collectors, or those seeking a tranquil modern sanctuary that balances raw materiality with understated luxury.
