About this design

This dining room embodies contemporary wabi-sabi aesthetics through its restrained yet tactile material palette of warm walnut-toned wood, cool grey concrete tiles, and raw hay. The dominant palette is earthy and muted, with rich wood grains contrasting against the textured beige of the curved vaulted ceiling and the deep charcoal tones of the floor. A dramatic architectural feature is the tall, sweeping curved ceiling that softens the space and draws the eye upward, balanced by the unexpected vertical hay wall that introduces organic imperfection and natural scent. Lighting is subtle and layered, combining recessed ceiling spots with a minimalist table lamp that casts gentle pools of light onto the wooden dining table. The spatial layout is open and monastic, with the table positioned to allow circulation around its four upholstered dining chairs. This room perfectly suits those seeking mindful, slow living, ideal for intimate dinners or quiet contemplation in a luxury minimalist or countryside retreat setting.
