About this design

This serene living space showcases a dominant earthy palette of warm walnut brown, creamy beige plaster walls, and deep charcoal polished concrete floors. The defining architectural feature is a continuous built-in banquette finished in rich walnut paneling and topped with thick white cushions, creating a low-slung, lounge-like seating arrangement. Five dramatic vertical light slots carved into the upper wall act as both architectural sculpture and light modulators, casting sharp, moving beams of sunlight across the space throughout the day. The material contrast between the textured plaster, smooth wood grain, and cool concrete generates a sophisticated tactile experience. Decorative elements are minimal yet intentional: geometric black-and-white patterned pillows and dried floral arrangements add subtle texture without disrupting the calm. This room perfectly suits those seeking a meditative, high-end minimalist retreat that balances natural materials with strong architectural presence, ideal for mountain homes, luxury villas, or contemporary cabins.
