About this design

This interior captures the essence of contemporary wabi-sabi design through its restrained palette of warm beiges, deep charcoal, and rich wood tones. The dominant materials include textured plaster walls, dark stained wood for the dramatic slatted ceiling and architectural beams, herringbone-patterned dark wood flooring, and natural woven tatami. A sculptural olive-green lounge chair with a slim black metal frame serves as the focal point, complemented by a low circular coffee table and a small bonsai. Soft, directional lighting from hidden sources creates dramatic shadows and a contemplative atmosphere. The spatial layout emphasizes vertical volume with high ceilings and thoughtful negative space, making this room ideal for those seeking mindful living, meditation, or quiet reading in a sophisticated yet grounded environment.
