About this design

This commanding split-level living room showcases a dominant palette of sophisticated neutrals — warm greys, soft beiges, and deep charcoals. The space is defined by its monumental cast-in-place concrete staircase that doubles as both functional architecture and bold sculptural element. Materials are rich and tactile: raw concrete, brushed oak ceilings with dramatic linear detailing, bouclé and linen upholstery, and fluted black side tables. Natural light filters through sheer curtains, while a large paper lantern pendant adds a soft, organic counterpoint to the angular geometry. The spatial layout cleverly uses the raised platform to create distinct zones while maintaining an open, airy atmosphere. The overall mood is quietly luxurious, architectural, and serene. This design perfectly suits homeowners who appreciate modern minimalist aesthetics with strong architectural character, ideal for spacious villas or contemporary townhouses where the staircase can serve as a striking focal point.
