About this design

This striking interior composition centers on a sculptural red velvet armchair that commands attention with its saturated hue and organic, rounded form. The dominant palette contrasts the vivid crimson velvet against cool neutral tones of layered slate grey and raw concrete. The armchair rests on a deliberately textured platform of irregularly stacked slate slabs, which adds a raw, geological quality to the space. Dramatic diagonal shafts of light cut across the large-format concrete wall behind, creating dynamic geometric patterns that shift throughout the day. The material selection is deliberately tactile: the plush velvet invites touch while the rough-hewn stone and smooth concrete provide visual and textural counterpoints. Three slender black floor lamps with exposed bulbs add a minimalist industrial element. The overall mood is both contemplative and theatrical, blending contemporary minimalism with a sense of artistic installation. This space would particularly suit design-forward living rooms, creative studio lounges, or high-end hospitality waiting areas where a single statement piece is intended to define the entire atmosphere.
